The human body is unable to process asbestos fibers and eliminate them. The more a person is exposed to asbestos the more fibers will collect in the lungs or other parts of the body. There are several diseases related to asbestos exposure, such as Mesothelioma, Lung Cancer, and Asbestosis. It is important to prevent inhalation of asbestos, to reduce the risk of being diagnosed with these illnesses.

It is entirely possible that there are asbestos products to be found all around you. In your home, at your child's school, and at your workplace. This isn't necessarily something to panic about, however caution is always good to exercise when handling asbestos. If the asbestos product is in good condition, it most likely poses no risk to you. If the product is showing signs of wear and tear, and looks damaged, then is a time to manage the problem, responsibly. Do not disturb the area. Although your intentions are good, while repairing or removing the asbestos, you may release those dangerous fibers into the air. The most dangerous asbestos is the type you cannot see. Individuals who have been trained in asbestos maintenance and management are the best qualified to handle a problem.
