Mesothelioma Lung Cancer - Treatment
Before you and your doctor decide on a specific type of treatment, several factors must be taken into consideration.

The three most common types of treatment associated with mesothelioma care are:

Surgery
This is the most effective way to rid your body of mesothelioma, and lung cancer. Chemotherapy is often recommended before and after to ensure the cancer does not return to your body.

Radiotherapy
Radiation Therapy is used usually in addition to surgery or chemotherapy. It will attack a certain area unlike chemotherapy which attacks the whole body.

Chemotherapy
Drugs are administered to attack and kill cancer cells in the patient's body. It will in addition attack other normal cells in the body, causing harsh side effects.

Before deciding on a therapy, your doctor will assess your needs. Age and physical health are taken into consideration, and diagnosis, and proximity of cancer are also factors.
