New developments and treatments are becoming available every day. Some physicians may not be aware of new treatment and therapies available to mesothelioma patients. Hundreds of patients are told they have no treatment available to them, and should focus on quality of life, rather than aggressively attacking the cancer within. This is simply not the case now. There are options. If you are told you have no options, don't be afraid to get a second opinion.

It is important that you find a doctor who continually researches and learns about the new developments related to your cancer. Try and find a doctor familiar with mesothelioma, or lung cancer. Also take into consideration the hospital you will be treated at, when dealing with that doctor. And most important, do what you can to find a therapist who you feel has the same goal that you have, and whom you can communicate well with.
